I was excited to see Wasps hunting in the Cabbages but I am absolutely thrilled to find a baby Praying Mantis this morning. . Below you can see my cabbage worm loved cabbages, Celery success from scrap and the Sunflowers getting ready to bloom. They are atleast four feet tall. And the Corn is blooming too!

We have had a Romaine harvest this last week as well.

Dang those Cabbage Worms! Rise early and go pluck the critter off the cabbage; look under the leave in daylight which they abhor. Drop into a bucket of soapy water and be rid of them.
Be on the watch for a white butterfly/moth which seeks to lay eggs upon your cabbages. If all else fails find some Thurgiside (sp), which is a green and natural enemy of the worm.
I've heard, and seen a neat trick where you submerge small little cups of beer in the garden soil with up to a 1/4 inch of the cup stick out of the ground. The worms love the beer. Might work for you!
